About Me
I was born in Wailuku, Maui, and grew up in Waiehu. After graduating from H.P. Baldwin High School, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, completed a master’s degree in advanced practice nursing at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Tennessee, and did a cardiology fellowship at Atrium Health Center in South Carolina.

About My Practice
I fell in love with the field of nursing when I was training to be a nurse’s aide and immediately knew that I wanted to become an nurse practitioner. To now be in a position in which I can serve the people in the community to which I owe so much is truly an honor.
The pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment approaches used in cardiology interested me the most, especially when I was exposed to the different aspects of this specialty. It’s an added bonus that most of my cardiology training can be applied to other fields such as critical care, which is one of my other specialty interests. I welcome the challenges of my work and am motivated every day by the personal satisfaction I derive from helping people in this important way.
To help ensure that my medical knowledge is current, I attend conferences and consult with other professionals working in my field. As a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Cardiology, I receive the most up-to-date articles about my profession as well as all types of cardiology-specific information.
Joining Pacific Permanente Group gave me the wonderful opportunity to practice medicine on my home island, where I feel so connected to the people and the land. At this outstanding organization I have access to a wide range of resources that allow me to provide optimal care to my patients.
My approach is to treat the mental, physical, and spiritual components of my patients’ health in addition to the immediate reason that they’re seeking help.
How I Thrive
Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family. Being back home on this beautiful island with all of its tropical beauty and never-ending beaches helps me to unwind and keeps me feeling happy and healthy.
