Narrative Biography
About Me
I grew up in Albuquerque and attended the University of New Mexico for undergraduate studies, medical school, and residency training. I then moved to the East Coast, where I finished my training with a critical care fellowship at Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center. I’m certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
I was drawn to Hawaii since I first visited as a child. My wife, three boys, and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to live here and contribute to the well-being of this wonderful community, where we’ve made our home for the past 10 years.

About My Practice
My father and uncle, both doctors, had a profound influence on my career choice. I witnessed the personal satisfaction they derived from helping others, and I aspired to a similarly rewarding profession. This passion for making a difference in people’s lives is at the core of my practice.
I like working in a fast-paced environment, performing many types of procedures, and seeing quick, positive results. I try to be humble and non-judgemental and always look forward to hearing my patients’ stories.
Being a critical care physician with Pacific Permanente Group has been challenging and fulfilling. I believe in early, aggressive resuscitation to revive someone from unconsciousness, direct and open communication, and an emphasis on teamwork. My main interests are echocardiography, shock cases, and airway pressure release ventilation.
To stay current in medicine, I read clinical publications, usually while drinking coffee in the morning or falling asleep at night.
How I Thrive
I maintain an active lifestyle, engaging in activities such as surfing, running, biking, and mountain biking. I also enjoy cooking and strive to eat healthily. I don’t smoke or drink and find the most joy in spending quality time with my wife and family.
